John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you… Let not your heart be troubled.”

Today, we’re talking about a real challenge in today’s world: protecting your peace. And not just any peace — not temporary calm or momentary relief — but the lasting peace that comes from Jehovah.

You see, peace from the world is conditional. It’s based on everything going right. But the peace from God? That’s internal. It’s steady. It anchors you even when the storm rages all around. And that’s why we must protect it — because we are living in chaotic times.

Turn on the news, scroll through your phone, or listen to conversations around you, and you’ll see it: conflict, fear, noise. But even in the middle of all this, God says in John 14:27 — ‘Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you… Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.’ This isn’t a suggestion. It’s a command and a promise. Peace has been given. Now it’s your job to protect it.

You might be thinking, ‘How can I feel peace when everything around me is falling apart?’ That’s the very reason this message matters. Peace isn’t the absence of trouble. It’s the presence of God. It’s being grounded even when the ground is shaking.

We all have battles — some seen, some hidden. It could be health issues, financial stress, relationship problems, or just daily worries that stack up. And if you’re not intentional, those worries will crowd out your joy, your rest, and your focus. That’s why we have to become fierce protectors of our peace.

Let’s start with the basics. What are you allowing into your spirit? What are you watching, listening to, and engaging with? You cannot fill your mind with negativity and expect peace to stay. Turn off the noise. Be selective with your input. Sometimes, peace starts with pressing the mute button.

Then, look at the people around you. Some folks bring peace, others bring drama. Some encourage, others drain. You have to be wise about who gets access to your inner life. You can love everyone, but you don’t have to let everyone in. Set spiritual boundaries. You have every right to say, ‘This conversation isn’t good for my spirit,’ or ‘I need space to protect my mind today.’

And let’s not forget your personal habits. What are you doing daily that supports your peace?

Start with prayer. That simple act of pausing and talking to Jehovah — that centers you. It reminds your heart that you are not alone, not powerless, not forgotten. It reconnects you to the source of your peace.

Next, spend time in God’s word. Even a single verse — like today’s — can calm an anxious mind. Meditate on it. Speak it out loud. Post it on your wall. Make the truth louder than your fears.

Also, build moments of rest into your day. You don’t have to earn peace — you just have to make room for it. Create quiet time. Light a candle. Listen to soft worship music. Go for a peaceful walk. Journal your thoughts. Do things that allow your spirit to breathe.

Now, let’s talk about your thoughts. That inner dialogue. Sometimes we talk ourselves out of peace. We imagine the worst. We replay the hurt. We anticipate disaster. Stop rehearsing pain. Start rehearsing promises.

Remind yourself: ‘God is in control. Jehovah sees me. I am not alone. His peace is with me.’ Say it until your spirit believes it.

John 14:27 is Jesus speaking directly to us: ‘Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you… Let not your heart be troubled.’ That tells us peace is a gift. But also, peace is a responsibility. You must choose not to let your heart be troubled.

How? By reminding yourself who your Father is. He’s not confused. He’s not panicking. He’s not absent. He’s Jehovah — still on the throne. Still faithful. Still protecting. Still providing. Still guiding.

And he knows your exact situation. He knows what you’re facing and how you feel. That’s why he gave you his peace. It’s not just a gentle feeling — it’s a shield. A covering. A holy calm that guards your thoughts and emotions.

You don’t have to live on edge. You don’t have to respond to every fire with fear. You can choose calm. You can pause. You can breathe and say, ‘Jehovah, I receive your peace right now. Cover me. Keep me. Lead me.’

And he will.

Jehovah, thank you for the gift of peace. Not the world’s version, but your divine, holy, everlasting peace. Help us protect it with wisdom, discernment, and discipline. Quiet the noise around us. Silence the fears inside us. Let us walk in your presence daily and recognize your hand even in chaos. Build a hedge around our mind, our heart, and our home. Let peace rule in our relationships, our decisions, and our future. In Jesus’ name — Amen.

Peace is not passive. It’s powerful. And it’s personal. Jehovah gave it to you. Don’t let anyone take it. Don’t let the world rob you. Stay rooted in his Word. Stay close to his voice. Keep his promises in front of your eyes.

You were never meant to live in panic. You were meant to live in purpose — with peace. And every single day, you get to choose it.

This is JUST STRAIGHT TALK. I’m R-E SAMPLE. I’ll see you next time — walking in peace, anchored in truth, and standing in God’s promise.

Remember– Truth Don’t Change. JUST STRAIGHT TALK
