Welcome back to “Just Straight Talk”.
I’m your host, R-E SAMPLE — and as always, I thank you for being here.
This is where we take a breath, sit down, and speak from the heart.
Let’s start with what matters most — let’s pray.
Jehovah,
Thank you for this moment, for this voice you’ve given me, and for every person tuning in today.
Some of us are tired, some of us are worried, and some of us just need a little peace.
Let this message today touch whoever needs it.
And remind us, lord, that you are still listening.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today’s episode is simple, but deep: Why I Still Believe in Prayer.
Now look — I know we’ve all been through something.
Times when we prayed and didn’t get the answer we wanted.
Times when we felt like nobody — not even God — was listening.
And yet, I’m still here… telling you I believe in prayer.
Not because life has been perfect.
Not because I always got a miracle.
But because prayer gave me peace when nothing else could.
What Prayer Means to Me
Prayer to me is like picking up the phone and calling home.
You don’t need fancy words.
You don’t need a title, a robe, or a microphone.
Just you — and the one who made you.
Sometimes I pray in my car.
Sometimes it’s in my chair, with tears in my eyes and no words at all.
Sometimes it’s just a whisper: “Jehovah, help me.”
And you know what?
That’s enough.
Because prayer is relationship, not religion.
It’s not a show. It’s a connection.
When Prayer Doesn’t Seem to Work
Now I’ll be honest with you.
There were times I felt like giving up.
Prayed for healing and watched someone I love pass away.
Prayed for peace and still had to live through storms.
But you know what I’ve come to learn?
Prayer doesn’t always change the situation…
But it will change you — how you handle it, how you see it, how you survive it.
Sometimes, God doesn’t remove the storm.
He walks with you through it.
For the Listener Struggling with Prayer
If you’re listening today and you’ve stopped praying…
Maybe you felt like your prayers hit the ceiling and came back down empty…
Let me speak to your heart right now.
Jehovah still hears you.
Even when you’re silent.
Even when you’re angry.
Even when you don’t know what to say.
Start with a whisper.
Start with a sigh.
Just say, “God, I’m here.”
That’s enough.
Now before we wrap up, you know I’ve got to say it again —
This is a clean space.
We keep it respectful.
We don’t curse our way through pain — we pray our way through it.
So why do I still believe in prayer?
Because I’ve seen what it can do.
I’ve felt it carry me.
I’ve lived through enough to know that God never left me. And I believe He’s still right here — waiting on you to talk to Him.
So take a moment today… wherever you are… and just pray.
You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to be honest.
Jehovah,
Thank you for being patient with us.
Thank you for hearing us, even when we don’t have the right words.
Strengthen the one listening right now.
Comfort their heart.
And remind them, lord, that they’re never too far from you.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
This has been Just Straight Talk, and I’m R-E SAMPLE.
Next time, we’re going to talk about something that means a lot to me —
The Power of Staying Clean in a Dirty World.
Until then, stay strong, stay clean.
And most of all — stay connected.
