Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
This is JUST STRAIGHT TALK, and I’m R-E SAMPLE. Let’s have a real conversation today — one that touches deep places in the heart. We’re talking about those moments when life simply doesn’t make sense. You know the times I’m talking about — when the bills are piling up, your health starts declining, or someone you trusted lets you down.
It’s in those very moments, those confusing and painful moments, that we’re called to trust Jehovah. But let’s be honest — trusting God isn’t always easy. Especially when nothing around you feels right.
Jehovah God, sometimes life throws us into places we never expected. There are days we feel lost, confused, and uncertain. But you are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Give us strength to trust when we can’t see the outcome. Remind us of your promises. Hold us steady through the storms. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Trust Beyond Understanding
Life has a way of surprising us — and not always in a good way. A doctor gives unexpected news. A job ends without warning. A friend becomes distant. A loved one dies. And in the quiet moments after, we wonder, “Where are you, God?”
The bible never promises an easy life, but it does promise that Jehovah walks with us through it all. Psalm 23 reminds us, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.” That’s the kind of trust we’re talking about today — the kind that doesn’t depend on circumstances.
Trust is not denial. It’s not pretending that pain doesn’t hurt. Trust is saying, “Even though I don’t understand this, I believe God is still good. I believe he’s still working. I believe he sees what I can’t.”
Building Stronger Trust in God
Talk to God Honestly
– Don’t hide your feelings. Jehovah already knows them. Say what’s really on your heart.
– Faith grows when we bring our doubts to him.
Remember His Track Record
– Think back to the times he’s brought you through before. If he did it once, he can do it again.
Stay in the Word
– The Bible is full of people who didn’t understand what God was doing — but they trusted anyway.
– Read about Job, Joseph, David, and the Apostle Paul.
Surround Yourself with Faith
– Talk to others who trust Jehovah. Listen to encouraging messages. Worship, even when it’s hard.
Take It One Day at a Time
– You don’t have to understand the full plan. Just take the next faithful step.
Watch for Small Signs
– Sometimes, God answers with peace. Sometimes with a phone call. Sometimes just with a feeling that everything will be okay.
– Don’t miss the little ways He speaks.
When Faith Feels Thin
There are days when your faith feels strong, and there are days when you feel like it’s barely hanging on. That’s normal. Even the disciples, who walked with Jesus, had moments of doubt.
Thomas said he wouldn’t believe unless he saw the scars. Peter denied Jesus three times. But guess what? God didn’t give up on them — and he’s not giving up on you either.
When life doesn’t make sense, you can lean into God’s character. He is faithful. He is just. He is merciful. He is loving. Even when the situation doesn’t feel good, He still is.
If today you’re facing something that doesn’t make sense, I want to speak directly to your heart: Don’t give up. You are not forgotten. Jehovah sees you. He hears your cries, even the silent ones.
The enemy wants you to believe that this is the end, that the pain is too great, that your faith is too small. But the truth is — the fact that you’re still praying, still listening, still holding on — that’s evidence of strong faith.
Hebrews 11:1 says it clearly: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” That means faith lives in the not knowing. Faith walks in the dark while trusting there’s still light ahead.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to keep showing up, keep trusting, keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Jehovah never promised understanding — but he promised presence. He promised peace. He promised purpose, even in your pain.
Jehovah, thank you for being faithful when life is confusing. Thank you for your presence in the valley, for your light in the darkness, and for your strength in our weakness. We confess that we don’t always understand — but we choose to trust anyway. Help us walk by faith, not by sight. Help us to rest in your promises, even when our hearts are heavy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
This has been JUST STRAIGHT TALK. I’m R-E SAMPLE. Life doesn’t always make sense — but Jehovah always does. Trust him, even when the road is hard. I’ll see you next time.
Trust Doesn’t Always Look Perfect
Let’s be clear — trusting God isn’t about having a perfect response. You can still trust him while wiping tears. You can trust him with shaky hands and a racing mind. Trust doesn’t mean you have no fear — it means you’ve chosen not to be led by that fear.
Every time you pray even though you don’t feel like it, you’re trusting. Every time you choose kindness over bitterness, you’re trusting. Every time you hold on one more day — that’s trust in action.
You don’t have to perform for God. You just have to stay connected. Keep your heart open to him, even when your words are few. And remember — you are never alone in your confusion. Millions of faithful believers are walking this same road, learning to trust step by step.
So today, give yourself grace. Breathe. And say it out loud if you need to: “Jehovah, I trust you. Even now. Even here.” That simple sentence can change your whole perspective. Because when you speak trust, you silence fear.
